Abstract
Consideration is given to slow plane isothermal fl ow of a viscoplastic strip in rolling. Tangential stresses are assigned at the boundary of contact of the strip with the roll and at the boundaries between the fl ow region and the back and head rigid ends of the strip. A definition is provided for possible perturbations of the velocities of travel for special stationary flows of a viscoplastic strip in rolling. Minimum entropy production is proved for special stationary flows with respect to possible perturbations of velocities of travel (Prigogine theorem).
