Paired pacing has been suggested as a mode of therapy because of its powerful inotropic effects but has not been extensively used because of the hazard of producing ventricular fibrillation. Previous work in this laboratory has shown that paired pacing of the canine heart after coronary artery ligation results in fatal ventricular fibrillation. The purpose of this study was to observe the combined use of paired pacing and various antiarrhythmic... This content is PDF only. To continue reading please click on the PDF icon.
