Abstract

ravelers’ diarrhea (TD) is one of the most common medical conditions xperienced by individuals from an industrialized country who travel to a eveloping country. Fortunately, the mortality associated with TD is xtremely low (even in children); however, it can be a frustrating ondition forcing changes in travel plans and causing general discomfort. D is a potentially preventable and treatable condition. A health care rofessional preparing a family for international travel can play an mportant role in educating the family members about prevention, rophylaxis, and emergency treatment of TD.
