Abstract
Objective To investigate the preventive measures against complications of silicone prosthesis implantation in rhinoplasty. Methods Sixty-five patients who received rhinoplasty in Jiangmen Central Hospital from December 2014 to December 2016 were selected and divided into control group (28 cases) and study group (37 cases) according to random number table method. Patients in control group received silicone prosthesis rhinoplasty surgery, while patients in study group were given auricular cartilage implantation and silicone prosthesis rhinoplasty surgery. Complications and postoperative staifaction of the two groups were compared. Results The incidence of complications in study group (5.4%) was lower than that in control group (21.4%), but the overall satisfaction in study group (91.9%) was higher than that in control group (67.9%), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions Silicone prosthesis and cartilage implantation can greatly reduce the complication; in addition, selecting appropriate surgical incision, fine carving, prosthesis under nasal dorsal fascia stripping and postoperative application of antibiotics are the keys to reducing and preventing complication after silicone prosthesis rhinoplasty surgery.
