Abstract
Background; Various conditions are treated by physiotherapy with an aim of alleviating pain , there are instances where pain is exacerbated the following day due to unknown mechanism . Exacerbation in pain can make the patient apprehensive, patient may become concerned whether they are receiving appropriate treatment. This leads to missed sessions which delays treatment outcome. Methods; The cross sectional survey was conducted in krishna college karad .the purpose of this study was to determine if there is aggravation of pain the following day of physiotherapy session in individuals who were undergoing physiotherapy rehabilitation . Prior to conducting the survey, the ethical committee approval was made. Patient were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. With the consent 200 individuals are participating in the study and result was obtained by the help of statistician. Result; All of the 200 individuals undergoing physiotherapy rehabilitation answered. Among the 200 individuals, pain aggravation was seen among 123 individuals. The percentage of prevalence of the study is 61.5 %. Conclusion ; 61.5% of individuals who were undergoing physiotherapy rehabilitation reported increased pain on the following day before treatment. These results suggests that there is high prevalence of individuals who experienced increased pain. However, further investigation is needed to identify the cause and mechanism of pain.
