Abstract

The carbon paste electrode (CPE) was modified by electrochemical pretreatment method using sodium hydroxide (NaOH). The pretreated carbon paste electrode showed excellent electro catalytic activity towards the oxidation of Adrenaline (AD). The pre-treated CPE is more sensitive and selective compared to Bare carbon paste electrode (BCPE). The effect of pH, scan rate and concentration studies are carried out and the overall electrode process found to be adsorption controlled. The limit of detection [LOD] and limit of quantification [LOQ] was found to be 3.3 µM and 11 µM. Pretreated carbon paste electrode (Pretreated CPE) is employed for the simultaneous determination of Adrenaline (AD) and Uric acid (UA). The Pretreated CPE resolved the problem of fouling effect. The pretreated CPE showed good performance in analysis of AD in injection sample.
