Abstract

We describe here electrical resistivity measurements on the new Cu-1223 and Cu-1234 cuprates and the YPdBC phase up to ∼24GPa. We observe that the T c of the three layer cuprate monotonically decreases with pressure, indicating that this sample is possibly overdoped. For the four layer Cu phase instead, the variation of T c with pressure passes through a maximum. In the intermetallic YPdBC material the T c decreases with pressure, and, at the same time, the characteristic energy T 0 extracted from the exponential dependence of the resistivity is increased with pressure, as expected for a characteristic phonon energy.
