Abstract

AbstractThe pressure variation of the two‐phase region in liquid Bi  BiBr3 mixtures was studied by measuring the conductivity as a function of temperature up to 17 kbar using an internally heated autoclave and a piston‐cylinder apparatus. The retrograde solubility region disappears at about 1.5 kbar. The two‐phase region disappears at about 16 kbar and the liquidus curve with S‐shape appears at about 17 kbar. Around 55 mol‐% Bi the electrical conductivity changes sharply at high pressures where the two‐phase region diminishes.
