Abstract

We have previously reported that the presence of blood in the embryo catheter negatively impacted implantation rate (IR) and clinical pregnancy rate (CPR) when the direct embryo transfer method was used. Since that report, we have modified our embryo transfer (ET) method to use the ‘afterload’ method (Neithardt et al, 2005). Our objective was to assess whether the presence of blood in the catheter negatively influenced IR and CPR in women undergoing the ‘afterload’ method of ET.
