Abstract
Competitive and sustainable container vessels are able to serve cargo for additional 560 small EU ports with surrounding cities, shortening road-traffic and prepare for the time of rising fuel prices and costly environmental restrictions. The project developed a new catamaran vessel of 200 TEU with on-board crane as part of a moving superstructure and a novel energy and propulsion concept. The current and known future environmental rules are fully observed.
