Abstract

Introduction. A history teacher today should have a wide range of knowledge on world, national and regional history; and be able to organize the educational process relying on traditional and modern teaching methods. In this regard, it is necessary to focus on these aspects in the educational process in higher educational institutions when training future teachers. The paper aims to present the experience of the Department of History and Methodology of the Pedagogical Institute at Irkutsk State University in preparing graduates for teaching the course “Irkutsk Studies,” introduced in schools in Irkutsk in the 2021–2022 academic year, through mastering theoretical knowledge during the training courses, and acquiring skills during the practical training; to show the logic of their structure and the principles of inclusion in the educational space of the training program 44.03.05 Pedagogical education majoring in History and Social Studies. Materials and methods. The methodological framework of the study is the competence approach. The main methods used in the study are content analysis, observation, analysis of the products of educational and research activities of students. Research results. The paper has demonstrated experience of including academic disciplines aimed at teaching the Irkutsk Studies course at school in the educational space in the process of training future history teachers at the Pedagogical Institute of Irkutsk State University. The paper presents examples of assignments through which students acquire various practical skills necessary in their further professional activities to teach schoolchildren the history of a city. Conclusions. Preparation of a history teacher at the Pedagogical Institute at Irkutsk State University for teaching the Irkutsk Studies course is comprehensive and logically structured. It is carried out throughout the entire study period; disciplines and practices seamlessly complement each other in the educational process, which contributes to the acquisition of the necessary competencies. Bachelor’s degree to be received in History and Social Studies will allow students in the future to successfully put into practice their knowledge, skills, and abilities in the process of teaching schoolchildren to the Irkutsk Studies course, which provides ample opportunities for learning the history of their state through the history of their small homeland.

Подготовка будущего учителя истории к преподаванию курса «Иркутсковедение»: из опыта работы. В связи с этим необходима реализация этой установки в образовательном процессе в высших учебных заведениях при подготовке будущих учителей. Цель статьи: представить опыт работы кафедры истории и методики Педагогического института Иркутского государственного университета по подготовке выпускников к преподаванию курса «Иркутсковедение», введённому в школах г.
