Abstract

• ZnO-NRs/poly(EPE) heterojunctions is synthesized by electropolymerization. • The UV Photodetectors are constructed from ZnO-NRs and ZnO-NRs/poly(EPE). • D-A-D type conducting polymers effectively improve photodetector performance. In this work, the P N heterojunctions (ZnO-NRs/poly(EPE)) of ZnO-NRs/poly(2,5-bis-(2,3-dihydrothieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxyin-5-yl)pyridazine)) were prepared by electrochemical polymerization, which combined with ZnO-NRs into a double-layer structure UV photodetector. The performance of the UV photodetector was explored under UV illumination of 0.3 mW/cm −2 . The structure and morphology of the ZnO-NRs/poly(EPE) composites were characterized by XRD, UV–vis, SEM and Mapping. Structural analysis showed that poly(EPE) was successfully grown on the ZnO nanorods. The performance of photodetector was performed by electrochemical workstations. The results show that this device exhibits good photoresponsivity, with a responsivity (R) of 77.5 A/W and detectivity(D*) of 1.05 × 10 12 Jones at 5 V bias voltage.
