Abstract
Reaction of the complex [TiMgCl 6·4EtOAc] with two moles of acid, RCO 2H (R = C 6H 5, C 6H 5CHCH, p-(CH 3) 3CC 6H 4, (CH 3) 2CCH) leads to the heterobimetallic carboxylates [TiMgCl 4(RCO 2) 2·2EtOAc] while with pivalic acid the derivative [TiMgCl 4{(CH 3) 3CCO 2} 2·1.25EtOAc] is obtained. In corresponding reactions with phenol the complexes [TiMgCl 5(OC 6H 5)·1.25EtOAc] and [TiMg 2Cl 6(OC 6H 5) 2·2EtOAc] have also been isolated.
