Abstract

The catalytic performance of poly (N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone)-stabilized platinum colloidal nanoparticles (PVP–Pt) in the hydrogenation of chlorobenzene were studied. The nanocatalysts were prepared by varying preparation conditions. The average diameters and the standard deviations of PVP–Pt colloidal nanoparticles were affected remarkably by the interval time of stirring pause during the preparation, and there was serious agglomeration of the colloidal particles when the stirring pause time was 30s and more. The catalytic performance of the PVP–Pt colloidal nanocatalysts was affected by the colloidal preparation conditions, especially by the stirring pause time in the preparation process.
