Abstract

A composite material for the preparation of specimens for metallographic investigation through electron backscatter diffraction is proposed. It allows cold mounting of metal samples in conductive filler for subsequent treatment. The procedure of specimen preparation consists of grinding, polishing and electropolishing of the metal sample filled with a composite consisting of a self-hardening plastic, carbonyl iron powder and iron turnings.
