Abstract

It is demonstrated that the growth of CuCl crystals in a single crystal of NaCl can be observed by monitoring the optical absorption specturm. This technique enables the determination of thermodynamic and kinetic properties of the system. Based on these data the conditions for preparing nanocrystals are found. In comparison with other techniques the growth temperature is rather low which facilitates the modeling of crystal size.
