Abstract

Their properties arelower density of 20% than iron, 70% than aluminum, 10times higher strength than steel. Carbon fiber is mainlyused as a reinforced composite and functionality materi-als. The composite material has been widely used over theindustries, such as break disk of an aircraft, the nose coneof space shuttle, sporting goods, blades of wind mill etc.Though the excellent properties of the carbon fiber rein-forced composite (CFRP) give strong potential to be appliedto automobile, building materials, concrete structures, windpower generation blades, high-speed vehicles, marine struc-tures, the applications are very limited due to the highprice of the carbon fiber.
