Abstract

Bulk single crystals of Cu 2O were prepared with the plastic-flow method. Electrical measurements indicated that this method gives crystals with lower resistivity. Doping with cadmium produced crystals of resistivities down to 77 Ω cm. The properties of the crystals can be explained by a model which is based on partial charge compensation and which is consistent with the cadmium doped material being heavily compensated.
