Abstract
Yttrium vanadate, YVO 4, is prepared by the simultaneous hydrolysis of yttrium and vanadyl alkoxides, followed by washing and drying. The chemical structure is described by the formula Y (VO 4). The as-prepared YVO 4 powder gives large aggregates of fine particles. Specific surface areas of powders heated at low temperatures are very high.
