Abstract

The study of internal structures of insects is difficult and not as advanced as the study of external morphology. However, a rapid and simple method devised for the preparation and preservation of specimens may facilitate these studies, a matter of importance because insect physiology is often dependent on information concerning structures. Larvae of the tobacco hornworm, Manduca sexta (L.). were generally used in the study, but other representative insects were processed to test the application of the technique.
