Abstract
We prepared several thin films of the YBa2Cu4O8(124) phase on SrTiO3(100) in order to study the early stages of growth. It was found that the 124 phase grain grew on the 123 phase grain in the early growth stages (18 nm) because the growth mode changed. Moreover, the growth of thin films which had a 124 dominant phase was observed.
