Abstract
Abstract IR, DSC/TGA and XRD were used to study the formation of Nb2O5-doped SrTi03 powder. The rates of hydrolysis and polycondensation of titanyl acylate precursors prepared by chelating of titanium isopropoxide with acetic acid were slow. Therefore, the particle size of the powder obtained was finer and the particle size distribution was more uniform. The powder obtained was about 0.1 um of primary particle size, and the powder was readily sintered. The activation energy of grain growth for the ceramics calculated by the Arrhenius' formula is 121 KJ molā1. The dielectric constant and dissipation factor of the bulk powders were also determined at 1300 to 1450Ā°C.
