Abstract
Monochlorotris(4-tert.-butylphenoxo)titanium(IV) ( 1) has been prepared from titanium tetrachloride and 4-tert.-butylphenol and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, NMR and mass spectral studies. The 1:1 addition compounds of 1 with some aliphatic amines have also been prepared. The behaviour of this compound in the presence of strong chloride ion acceptors such as AlCl 3, FeCl 3, SbCl 3 and PCl 5 and SbCl 5 has been studied using conductance techniques.
