Abstract

Using a kind of rich soil in the world, loess soil (LS), as natural silicate minerals materials, a novel low-cost inorganic / synthetic polymer composite, loess/polyacrylamide composite (LS/PAM), was prepared by in-situ polymerization of acrylamide. The obtained LS/PAM composite was characterized by infrared spectra (IR), thermogravimetric analysis (TG) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results indicate that polyacrylamide (PAM) was uniformly composited with loess particles successfully.
