Abstract

Nanotechnology has become one of the most fascinating and advanced areas of research. Nanoparticles are widely used in the biotechnology and biomedical field. These metal nanoparticles have gained colossal consideration in recent times due to their indispensable and technological importance. Among the metal nanoparticles, gold nanoparticles are the most important due to its long history of medicinal use like the treatment of cancer and due to their sole properties, small size and high surface area. Gold nanoparticles biosynthesis process can be developing with the natural reducing agents such as flavonoids, terpenoids, and enzymes. Lamtoro have compounds such as flavonoids, coumarins, terpenes and sterols; its can help the formation of gold nanoparticles with biosynthesis process. This research employed the extract of Lamtoro for biosynthesis. The biosynthesis of nanoparticles is simple, single step, eco-friendly and a green approach. The purpose of this study, to determine how the preparation and characterisation of gold nanoparticles Lamtoro extract with eco-friendly biosynthesis process. The gold nanoparticles (NP’s) were characterised by UV-Vis spectroscopy, particle size analyzer (PSA), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), scanning electron microscope-energy dispersive x-ray (SEM-EDS), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analyses. The result showed the effective producing indicated by colour changes of the solution from yellow to purple. The solution has a maximum wavelength of 531 nm, the particle size of 1 nm, and the morphology has a spherical nanoparticle shape.
