Abstract

Mark DeRee's career in higher education law enforcement began in 2008, when, as a student at William Penn University in Iowa, he worked as a student security employee. When he was hired as a part‐time security officer there, DeRee discovered a passion for the work. “It's a great opportunity to learn and grow, that aspect of education that comes with public safety in higher education,” DeRee said.
