Abstract
Sinus CT scan has been widely accepted as the basic imaging modality in the study of sinus disease. It provides valuable information on the extent of the pathology, shows fine detail of the bony framework, and reveals anatomic variations. Modern CT scanners allow axial fine cuts down to 0.6 mm, and currently available software can provide multiplanar reconstruction images with coronal and sagittal studies of excellent quality. Some programs also allow simultaneous point projection in the three planes, further improving the understanding of the patient's anatomy and pathology.
