Abstract

In this article, we present a comprehensive review of the scientific literature related to prenatal care for pregnant dogs. Prenatal care in pregnant dogs is an essential part of canine reproductive health care. Providing adequate nutrition, monitoring the health status of the mother and puppies, and being prepared to deal with possible complications are crucial aspects of ensuring healthy pregnancies and successful births in female dogs. In short, the importance of prenatal care for pregnant dogs to ensure the mother's well-being and the healthy development of the puppies is undeniable. This study highlighted the importance of providing a balanced diet, maintaining regular monitoring of the pregnant dog's health and carrying out diagnostic tests, such as ultrasound, in order to prematurely detect possible complications during pregnancy.
