Abstract

For measurement of micro liquid volume, researchers are mainly using the gravimetric method. The volume of liquid is obtained by measuring the mass density of liquid. ISO 8655 proposed the non-gravimetric method based on photometric method, which makes the method for measuring micro liquid volume become a new trend of development. In order to meet the requirements of online measurement, and overcome the effect of evaporation when we use the gravimetric method to measure, this paper puts forward a liquid volume measurement method based on laser and machine vision. Through the establishment of volume table of glass gauge, we measure the liquid level inside the glass gauge, and get micro liquid volume dissolved in glass gauge. Measurement system use the cross laser and the high resolution CCD camera, with image processing technology and extract characteristic elements, to realize the high precision measurement of micro liquid volume in the glass gauge. And we have a comparison test with static measuring method, further determine the measurement accuracy of the device. For 100ml gauge, measurement error is less than 0.15 ml. With the optimization of the system devices, measurement accuracy can be further improved.
