Abstract

The 7th International Conference on Marine Technology (SENTA 2022) Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb.Ladies and Gentlemen,Since 2001, the Faculty of Marine Technology – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya has held the annual SENTA conference, formerly known as Seminar Nasional Teknologi dan Aplikasi Kelautan (National Conference on Marine Technology and Application), which provided a regular forum for researchers and engineers in Marine Technology in Indonesia. Then in 2016, the SENTA conference turned into an international conference, namely International Conference on Marine Technology (SENTA), to expand its research network.Two years of a pandemic transformed every sector, including the maritime sector. The demand to explore our ocean foster the technology development in marine technology. Embracing the sustainability of our earth and environment, especially our ocean, The 7th International Conference on Marine Technology (SENTA) 2022 brought the theme “Sustainable Development and Innovations in Marine Technology for A Post-Pandemic Era”. The conference took place in Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Surabaya, on October 20th, 2022, and gathered researchers and professionals in the marine industry.I would like to extend gratitude to our distinguished keynote speakers, Xabier Agote (President of Albaola Itsas Kultur Faktoria, Spain), Prof. Richard Birmingham (Professor of Small Craft Design, Newcastle University, United Kingdom), and Prof. Dr. Mazlan Abd. Ghaffar (Professor of Faculty of Science and Marine Environment, Universitas Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia). My deepest gratitude to our authors who submitted and participated in SENTA 2022. We received 99 papers. Of those submitted papers, 81 are presented and accepted for publication. I especially thank the organizing committees and reviewers for their hard work, perseverance, and patience in preparing and organizing this seminar, so it went smoothly and successfully.Through this conference, let us extend the network and cooperation among all stakeholders of the marine technology sector, especially in Indonesia and the world in general, to build a better maritime world in Indonesia.Thank you for your attention.Wassalamualaikum Wr.
