Abstract

IntroductionFrom October 29, to November 1, 2019, the Fifth Interdisciplinary Youth Scientific Forum with international “New materials and promising technologies” was held in Moscow in the building of the Presidium of Russia Academy of Sciences, where topical and applied problems of creating new materials for the future and promising technologies for their processing were discussed. The forum was held for the fifth time. The Forum was organized by the Council of Young Scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs under the President of the Russian Federation. Co-organizers of the Forum were the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), The Russian Chemical Society DI. Mendeleev, Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science A.A. Baykova and The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.Thematic areas included in the program of the Forum, helped to gather in one place representatives of different interdisciplinary research groups in the area of interest which includes the creation of the fundamentals of materials and their application in various industries. The Forum program was expanded by discussing the problems of introducing scientific developments and interaction of scientists with consumers of scientific results, foundations and development institutions. Additionally, the role of international cooperation, public and educational organizations in the scientific process, and the strategy of popularizing scientific achievements were discussed at the Forum.The scientific sections of the forum covered a wide range of topics on nanomaterials and nanotechnology, experimental methods for researching materials and structures, structural materials, functional materials, biomaterials and technologies, materials and technologies for green chemistry, additive technologies and promising processes in metallurgy.
