Abstract

Dear colleagues!International Scientific Conference “Construction Mechanics, Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering” (CONMECHYDRO - 2020) has been held successfully on April 23–25, 2020 at Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan. CONMECHYDRO - 2020 aim is to provide a platform to the researchers and practitioners from both academia as well as industry to meet and share cutting-edge development in this field. This conference will disseminate the most recent advances and promote collaborations to maximize opportunities for innovative solutions. New developments in hydraulics and water resources engineering, engineering in agriculture, hydropower, water and land management, land reclamation, building, construction and road equipment. The conference was organized by Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers in partnership with Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (St. Petersburg, Russian Federation) and Kazakh-German University and JSC “Hydroproject”(Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan). The Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers is a unique higher educational institution in Central Asia. The institute is engaged in the development of water resources. The history of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers dates back to 1923, when a faculty of land reclamation was organized on the basis of the hydrotechnical faculty of Turkestan State University, which began training agronomists and land reclamation engineers. In the early years of the institute, there were only two faculties: irrigation and drainage and mechanization. After the Second World War, the country’s agricultural sector grew rapidly, which increased the need for professional workers. After the end of World War II, a number of faculties were created: construction (1945), mechanization of irrigation and drainage (1946) and hydropower (1946). In 1974, a new faculty was created, called the “Technology of repair and creation of agricultural machinery”. In 1979, new engineering departments were opened, which was directly related to economic growth in Uzbekistan.According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-3003 dated May 24, 2017 “On measures to radically improve the training system for engineering and technical personnel for the agricultural and water sectors”, the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Land Reclamation was transformed into the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers [9 ]. Currently, the Institute has five faculties with 30 departments. The institute employs 353 professors and teachers and trains more than 4860 students. The organizers decided to hold a conference in a remote format with the organization of access for all participants to the materials of the presented reports with comprehensive discussion for ensuring the event at a high scientific level. Submitted manuscripts were carefully reviewed through a blind peer-review process involving at least two reviewers per full-paper submission. All the accepted papers prepared by participants of the CONMECHYDRO – 2020 has been published in these Proceedings. Thus, this volume presents the most insightful and substantial investigations in the theory and practice of construction mechanics, hydraulics and water resources engineering. As editors, we would like to thank all participants for the high scientific level of the presented contributions and the interest to the conference, and also the members of the Program Committee and the reviewers for a detailed analysis and constructive discussion of the submitted materials.Conference ChairmanDilshod Bazarov, D.Sc., Professor,Tashkent Institute of Irrigation andAgricultural Mechanization Engineers,Tashkent, Uzbekistan
