Abstract

On behalf of the Editors, it is our great pleasure to accept many research papers on the latest development in infrastructure studies. As infrastructure is the set of structural elements that supports the day-to-day function, and influences the direction of human society, it is an essential component of national competitiveness, increasing economic progress and reducing poverty. The term of sustainable infrastructure used in this conference refers to the designing, building, and operating of these structural elements in ways that do not diminish the social, economic and ecological processes required to maintain human equity, diversity, and the functionality of natural systems.Scientific papers in this proceeding were presented in the International Conference on Sustainable Infrastructure 2018 (ICSI 2018) which was organized by Department of Civil Engineering and Planning, Yogyakarta State University on 30th – 31st October 2018 to respond to the latest infrastructure developments, both nationally and globally. This Conference was focusing on sustainability in the built environment, presenting relevant engineering research, demonstrations and applications that contribute to competitiveness and well-being. It provided a showcase for the latest developments and advancements in all aspects of planning, design, construction, technology, policy and education related to sustainable infrastructure and also offers a forum to discuss and debate future directions for the 21st Century. In this Conference, there were many opportunities for the delegates to exchange new ideas and application experiences face to face, to establish business or research relations and to find global partners for future collaboration.Lastly, we would like to warmly thank all the authors who, with their presentations and papers, generously contributed to the lively exchange of scientific information that is so vital to the endurance of scientific conferences of this kind.Editors:Dr.-Ing.
