Abstract

The material science and engineering research is undergoing a revolution as we head into Industry 4.0. Materials engineers are the ones who design and innovate new materials for applications and this has given rise to development of computer chips biomedical devices to composites. With the advent of Industry 4.0, more expertise and research are needed in nanotechnology, automation and medical breakthroughs. The past materials engineers began with work on wood or ceramics but today, the focus is on biomaterials, sustainable materials, nanomaterials and advanced manufacturing.2022 International Conference on Materials Science and Engineering 2022 (CoMSE 2022), organized by the International Association of Electrical, Electronic, and Energy Engineering (IAEEEE), was scheduled to be held in Shanghai, China, but was held virtually on March 19-21, 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. CoMSE 2022 aims and dedicates itself to providing networking possibilities for researchers, scientists, engineers and scholars to share their experience, amazing ideas and innovative research in the field of Materials Science and Engineering.All presenters were invited for technical test one day ahead of the conference to ensure a smooth participance on Webex. The virtual conference contained two full-day technical sessions consisting of keynote lectures, oral presentations, and poster presentations. The technical program consists of 2 keynote speech, 1 invited speech, 22 oral presentations and 8 poster presentations. Every presenter was given 10-15 minutes for presentation, and each keynote was given 45 minutes. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our keynote speakers Professor Boris Yakobson and Professor Gianfranco Pacchioni who shared their newest and outstanding research achievements at the conference.After a couple of months peer review and hard work, the proceeding of CoMSE 2022 is smoothly published. It provides valuable reference for professionals working in materials science and allied fields.On behalf of the conference organizing committee, we would like to show our congratulation and sincere gratitude to all authors, peer reviewers, speakers, oral and poster presenters and listeners.
