Abstract

5th Annual International Workshop on Materials Science and Engineering (IWMSE2019) was held successfully in Changsha, Hunan, China during May 17-18, 2019. This is one of the leading international conferences for presenting novel and fundamental advances in the fields of Material Science and Engineering. The conference program covered keynote speeches, oral and poster presentations from scientists working in similar areas, and establish platforms for collaborative research projects in fundamental advances in the fields of Material Science and Engineering. Also, processing of the conference provided a platform for delegates and speakers to find potential opportunities for international cooperation.The major goal and feature of the conference is to bring academic scientists, engineers, industry researchers together to exchange and share their experiences and research results, and discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted. Distinguished professors and experts in the area delivered the latest knowledge in their respective expertise fields. International scientific activities, like conference, symposium and workshop are big scientific platforms for knowledge exchange among the scientists from all over the world.The theme of this conference was the key issues associated with science and technology in this rapidly evolving field of research and to promote contact between basic researcher and technological needs for real advanced materials and industrial applications.This event was intended as a vehicle for the dissemination of research results on latest advances made in the area of advanced materials and technological processes, which gave an excellent opportunity for the scientists and researchers around the world to have a common platform to exchange their findings and to discuss the developments and make a base for collaborations in the national and international level.The volume consists of the selected papers presented at IWMSE 2019, which were addressed to diverse topics related to recent trends mainly in advanced, functional, industrial and smart materials. I believe that this conference provided good opportunities for the delegates to exchange new ideas and application experiences face to face, to establish business or research relations and to find global partners for future collaboration.I am sure that the volume will offer the readers a good opportunity the access to the future directions of researches in this area of materials. The activities of the conference included keynote speeches and oral presentations in sessions, including poster presentations. The keynote talks were focused on the potential application and functional characterizations of multifunctional and basic materials.We want to express our gratitude to all the members of conference committee, and reviewers who spared their valuable time, for their advice which have certainly helped to improve the quality, accuracy, relevance and the sincere efforts to maintain the quality of each paper selected for conference program and volume for publication.
