Preface

Abstract

The 2nd International Symposium on Transdisciplinary Approach for Knowledge co-Creation in Sustainability (ISTAKCOS) is a biannual conference. The theme is Understanding Complexity and Transdisciplinary for Sustainability. The conference was held online on November 3rd - 4th, 2020 via zoom webinar and zoom meeting platform. The committee as a host was based in Center for Transdisciplinary and Sustainability Science (CTSS) Office Bogor, Indonesia. In connection with the Covid-19 pandemic, the Indonesian government implemented a Lockdown Policy from March 2020 - May 2020. Then the policy was continued with the PSBB (Broad-Scale Social Restrictions) from June 2020 - April 2021. As a result of this policy it was not possible to have large-scale social activities. As well as inter-regional travel, except for certain purposes (there must be a permit and SWAB test/PCR). This condition does not allow the symposium activities to be carried out offline. This is the reason why this activities were done virtually. The postponement of 2nd ISTAKCOS activities will have an impact on regular CTSS activities in 2022 (training, summer courses and national workshops on transdisciplinary and sustainability).This symposium is a meeting platform for various experts in sharing the results of their research and experineces related to sustainability. These experts will explore new ways and new ideas on understanding complexity and environmental sustainability. The conference provides insights into the implementation of transdisciplinary and sustainability science in solving the problems of increasingly complex development issues.List of Advisory Board, Conference Chair, Scientific Committe, Editorial Board, Editorial Committee, Assistant Editors are available in this pdf.
