Abstract

This present volume contains the Proceedings of the 19th Drive Train Technology Conference (ATK) in the year 2021. The ATK 2021 is organized by the Institute for Machine Elements and Systems Engineering of RWTH Aachen University, Germany, and virtually delivered through an online event on March 09-11, 2021.The traditional focus of the ATK on drive train innovations, including machine elements and tribology, this year is extended the first time on Model Based Systems Engineering. The ATK is an interdisciplinary platform that brings together experts in the field of Drive Technology and Systems Engineering to discuss the latest findings in research as well as to provide the transfer of research into industries. To identify practical needs, the conference’s contributions from industry experts and academic researchers are balanced. By providing access to the 5th Conference for Wind Power Drives, taking place at the same time, the multidisciplinary idea is raised further. Both Conferences together have hosted over 100 live talks in 29 expert sessions. We really appreciated the support provided by our friends and colleagues, leading to the great success of ATK 2021 and would like to thank:• Our Program Committee for providing deeper insights into the industry’s challenges, assessing numerous contributions to design our conference program and hosting our expert sessions.• Our keynote speakers Prof. Dr.-Ing Christian Guist (Bauhaus-Universität Weimar), Andreas Mitschke (Airbus Defence and Space GmbH) and Dr. Georg Strobl (BMW AG) for introducing our guests and shaping the framework of our conference.• All contributors providing an extensive and high-quality base for the ATK conference program. We would like to thank all attendees for this fruitful and enjoyable gathering.Sincerely,Prof. Dr.-Ing. Georg JacobsChairman of ATKList of Committee, Organisation Committee, Program Committee and Scientific Board, Extended Scientific Board, Editorial Board are available in the pdf
