Abstract
Organized by Beijing Jiaotong University (Beijing, China), the 2020 International Symposium on Water, Ecology and Environment (ISWEE 2020) was held successfully online via VooV Meeting from December 6th-8th, 2020. ISWEE 2020 was primarily scheduled to be held in Beijing, China from December 6th to 8th. However, due to the outbreak of COVID-19, it had to be changed to virtual model. The technical program comprised one plenary session with 6 plenary speeches (40 minutes for each including 3-5 minutes of Q&A), 6 parallel oral sessions including 17 invited speeches (25 minutes for each including 3-5 minutes of Q&A) and 47 online live presentations (15 minutes for each including 3-5 minutes of Q&A), 29 pre-recorded video presentations (15-20 minutes for each) and 9 e-poster presentations.Water, ecology and environment are key elements guaranteeing the sustainability of societies. The ISWEE conference series aims to provide an academic platform for researchers and scholars to present and discuss their latest findings about water resource and environment. ISWEE 2020 gathered over 110 participants from 35 different countries and areas. The main subjects of the conference were water resources and hydrology, water and wastewater treatment, climate change and ecology, sustainable cities and society, environmental pollution, environmental geochemistry and soil.This volume records the proceedings of ISWEE 2020 and contains 64 manuscripts that in accordance with the Journal’s Peer Review Policy were strictly selected based on originality, significance, relevance and contribution to the area after being peer-reviewed.The Organizing Committee would like to thank all the authors who contributed to ISWEE 2020 and also the Technical Program Committee members and reviewers who gave their valuable comments and suggestions for improving the manuscripts.ISWEE 2020 Conference SecretaryMandy Cheniswee@confiswee.comList of General Chairs, Local Chair, Co-chairs, Technical Program Committee (TPC), Local Organizing Committee (LOC) are available in the pdf.
