Abstract

The Southeast Asia Workshop on Aerospace Engineering (SAWAE) was founded in 2016 and first hosted by National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. It is organized in conjunction with the annual meeting of Southeast Asia Network in Aerospace Engineering (SANAE) and is hosted in turns by the constitutional members of SANAE. Since then, subsequent SAWAE events were hosted by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam (2017) and Kasetsart University, Thailand (2018). For this fourth edition of the workshop, it is jointly organized by Universiti Putra Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, which also marks the first time it is held in Malaysia. The primary aim of SAWAE is to provide an effective regional platform to discuss and exchange recent developments, new ideas, and experiences in the field of aerospace engineering between academia, government agencies, and industries in the region. It is hoped that this event will help and facilitate close dialogues, networking, and collaborations among experts on issues related to research and technological development in aerospace engineering, as well as in human resource development and education. This is directly aligned with the selected theme for this edition, which is “Aerospace Research and Development: Challenges and Opportunities”.
