Abstract

The 2021 International Online Conference on Mechanical Engineering, Intelligent Manufacturing and Automation Technology (MEMAT 2021-Online) was planned to be held on January 15-17, 2021in Guilin, China. Taking into account the COVID-19 pandemic, the MEMAT 2021-Online conferencewas held virtually as agencies around the world are now issuing restrictions on travel, gatherings, and meetings in an effort to limit and slow the spread of this pandemic. The health and safety of our participants and members of our research community is of top priority to the Organizing Committee. Therefore, the MEMAT 2021-Online conference was held online through Zoom software.MEMAT 2021-Online is to bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Intelligent Manufacturing and Automation Technology to a common forum. The primary goal of the conference is to promote research and developmental activities in engineering materials, manufacturing technology and another goal is to promote scientific information interchange between researchers, developers, engineers, students, and practitioners working all around the world. The conference will be held every year to make it an ideal platform for people to share views and experiences in Mechanical Engineering, Intelligent Manufacturing, Automation Technologyand related areas.More than 130 participants attended the online conference, they were from China, France,Singapore and more. We were greatly honor to have invited Prof.Ziad Moumni, Shanghai JiaotongUniversity, France to as our Conference Chair.During the conference, the conference model was divided into four sessions, including oralpresentations, academician reports, keynote speeches, and online Q&A discussion. In the first part, some scholars, whose submissions were selected as the excellent papers, were given about 5-10 minutes to perform their oral presentations one by one. Then in the second and third part, keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to hold their speeches. In the academician reports part, we were greatly honor to have invited Huanbing Liu, Foreign academician of Russian Academy of Engineering, from South China University of Technology to presented his insightful report. Another academician reporter, C. L. Philip Chen, being a Program Evaluator of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology Education (ABET) in the U.S, from South China University of Technology also presented a wonderful report. In the third part, we invited six professors as our keynote speakers. They were Prof.Shiji Song, from Tsinghua University; Prof.David BASSIR, from University of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (UTBM) & Researcher at ENS-CMLA; Prof.Qixin Cao, from Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Prof.Liang Yan, from Beihang University; Prof.Deping Yu, from Sichuan University; Prof.Huajun Cao, from Chongqing University. Their insightful speeches had triggered heated discussion in the fourth session of the conference. Every participant praised this conference for disseminating useful and insightful knowledge. The proceedings are a compilation of the accepted papers and represent an interesting outcome of the conference. Topics include but are not limited to the following areas: Mechanical Engineering, Intelligent Manufacturing, Automation and Other related topics. All the papers have been through rigorous review and process to meet the requirements of International publication standard. This year, we have all worked and lived with the daily threat of COVID19, the need for social distancing and relative isolation has impacted upon the familiar and fundamental nature of conferences. Regardless, such interactions are the lifeblood of our respective communities, and so we made the decision to proceed with the Workshop, bring participants together from around the world through a digital platform. We would like to acknowledge all of those who supported MEMAT 2021-Online. The help and contribution of each individual and institution was instrumental in the success of the conference.
