Abstract
The Third Scientific Conference of Iraqi Desert Geology (IDGC 2023)The 3rd Scientific Conference of Iraqi Desert Geology (IDGC 2023) was held in the Department of Applied Geology, College of Science, Anbar University. Academics from Iraqi universities, postgraduate students (Master’s and PhD) in various geoscience specializations, researchers from the Iraqi Geological Survey, the Oil Exploration Company, the General Ground Water Authority, and other specialists interested in desert studies participated in the conference.The IDGC was held in person over two days from December 13 to December 14, 2023 in Ramadi, Anbar Governorate, Iraq. Each participant was given approximately 10 minutes to present the main findings of their research, followed by 5 minutes to discuss those findings.The research papers submitted to IDGC covered all geoscience disciplines related to the geology of the Iraqi desert. This included papers in stratigraphy, paleontology, structural geology, remote sensing, geophysics, hydrogeology, hydrogeology, petroleum geology, and geochemistry.
