Preface

Abstract

We are pleased to introduce the Proceedings of the 26th TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE “TRANSPORT, ECOLOGY – SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT” EKO Varna 2020. The conference was held from October 8th to October 10th, 2020 in the city of Varna, Bulgaria. It was organised by Transport Engineering and Technologies Department at Technical University of Varna.The conference was attended by scientists and researchers from Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine and Poland. The conference was inaugurated by the Rector of Technical University of Varna and was attended by representatives of Varna Regional Administration and the City Hall of Varna.The main conference topics were:• Vehicle design and technology• Ecology of transport engines• Bio fuels for internal combustion engines• Road safety• Electric vehicles and charging stationsThe conference was held for the first time in a hybrid format - attendance in the conference hall of Rosllyn Dimyat Hotel Varna and online on the Zoom platform. Despite the difficulties associated with the global Covid 19 pandemic and the postponement to October, the conference was held in compliance with all safety measures. The whole conference could be watched by participants and spectators live through the ZOOM platform. The presentations of the online participants were watched on the main screen in the conference hall. Each participant had 15 minutes to present their work. There were lengthy discussions for some articles. As a result, the program of the conference had to be changed and two of the presentations from first day were postponed to the second day.The editors would like to thank all authors for their high-quality contributions and the members of the international programme committee for their commitment.
