Preface to 2nd National Conference on Frontiers in Modern Physics :

Abstract

After observing the immense success of 1st National Conference on Frontiers in Modern Physics (NCFMP) in 2018, and the interest of the participants, the organisers decided to organise the 2nd version of the conference with more pace and versatility. 2nd National Conference on Frontiers in Modern Physics (2nd NCFMP) was held on 6th-7th February, 2020 in the City of Joy – Kolkata, India. The sprawling green campus of Adamas University was he venue of the conference. The University was established in 2014 and the Department of Physics of the University started its first batch in the year 2015. In this span of time, the Department of Physics has achieved prestigious milestones in terms of research, project, patents, device developments, conference and other teaching-learning & academic activities. 2nd NCFMP was attend by eminent Professors & dignitaries from various National organisations of repute: Prof. Pushan Ayuub, TIFR, MumbaiProf. Soumitra Sengupta, IACS, Kolkata, Prof. Indrani Bose, Senior Professor, Bose Institute, Prof. Jayanta Kumar Bhattacharya, Distinguished Visiting Professor, IACS, Kolkata Ex Director, HRI, Allahabad, Prof. Ananda Dasgupta, IISER, Kolkata, Dr. Debashri Ghosh, Senior Scientist, CGCRI, Kolkata, Prof. Tejinder Pal Singh, TIFR, Mumbai are a few of the eminent keynote speakers.The proceedings of 2nd NCFMP span over 7 topical tracks, that include: Condensed matter Physics, Applied Electronics, Medical Physics, High Energy Physics & Field theory, Plasma Physics, Nuclear physics and Astrophysics. A large number of research papers were contributed by researchers from various parts of India and amongst those 56 research papers were selected for presentation (Acceptance rate: 55%) in the Conference in oral and poster form. From the 56 research papers presented in the conference; based on the merit, contents, novelty and writing the reviewers selected 26 good standard work for publication in form of full paper in indexed proceedings. Efforts are taken by the learned reviewers, to improve the quality of the papers by providing constructive critical comments, improvements and correction to the authors, are gratefully acknowledged. We are really grateful to the International/ National advisory committee, keynote speakers, session chairs, organising committee members, student volunteers and administrative assistance of the management section of University, including accounts section, digital media and publication house. Also we are thankful to all the authors for contributing a large number of papers in the conference, because of which the conference became a story of success. It was the quality of their presentations and their passion to communicate with the other participants that really make this conference series a great success.Last but not the least, we are really thankful to IOP publishing house for supporting us in every step of our journey towards success. Their support was not only the strength but also an inspiration for the NCFMP organisers.
