Abstract

The mechanism for nuclear reactions called pre-equilibrium (PE) emission, proposed a few years ago by Griffin [13], can be well classified as an intermediate process for particle emission. This mechanism takes into consideration the emission of particles during the nuclear cascade initiated in a nucleus by a projectile. The salient feature of this process is the statistic hypothesis done while calculating both the cascade development and particle emission. This makes the whole description of the mechanism very simple and easy to compare with experiments.
