Abstract

Vitiligo is an acquired dermatosis characterized principally by skin depigmentation with complex pathogenesis.Recent studies have indicated that vitiligo is a polygenic disease, and generalized vitiligo is particularly closely related to heredity. Many predisposing genes have been discovered for vitiligo, including the glutathione S-transferase gene,Catalase gene,Toll-like receptor gene family, tyrosinase gene, discoidin domain receptor 1 gene, human leukocyte antigen alleles, superoxide dismutase gene, etc. To study the susceptible genes for vitiligo may provide a basis for the elucidation of vitiligo pathogenesis, and greatly benefit the early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of vitiligo, especially generalized vitiligo.
