Abstract

Bit-interleaved coded phase and amplitude modulation over frequency-non-selective Ricean fading channels without channel state information at the receiver is studied. We propose a low-complexity noncoherent receiver structure which is very well suited to time-variant fading transmission scenarios, and which provides gains of several dBs in power efficiency compared to conventional differential detection.
