Abstract

A bstract The combustion process of hydrocarbons is a very complex phenomenon. To predict the performance of flame burning of methane and propane hydrocarbons with the addition of crosslinked steam, this study was conducted using Fluent software to predict the shape and flame lengths formed due to the influence of both aspects of cross wind and steam addition and to analyze its effect on Quality of combustion generated. This study was conducted by examining the quality of methane and propane combustion with cross wind speed given 1.5 m / s, 3,77 m / s, 5 m / s, 7,5 m / s and 10 m / s and steam ratio Against fuel 0.14. The results show that the cross wind speed greatly affects the resulting combustion quality, which is indicated by the flame temperature obtained by decreasing with increasing cross-wind speed, as well as the heat released from the combustion process.
