Abstract
An increase in the yield strain in rigid-chain polymers with an increase in the rigidity of the macromolecules was observed. The value of the plasticity limit is determined both by the cohesion energy of the undeformed polymer, and by the Grueneisen parameter. A method for predicting the basic yield parameters in rigid chain polymers is presented.
