Abstract

A method for sterilization and preservation of bioprostheses made of allogeneic and xenogeneic tissue in 1% dioxidine solution does not alter the structure and strength characteristics of the biological tissue and does not provoke cytotoxicity of the biological material. Dioxidine preservation of bioprostheses made of xenogenic tissue ensures their sterility during the warranty storage period. The exposure time of bioprostheses in 1% dioxidine solution to achieve sterility assurance is 24 h. The results of preclinical trials showed that 1% dioxidine solution can be recommended as a new universal sterilizing and preserving substance for biological heart valve prostheses.
