Abstract
Abstract For manufacturers, the ability to produce parts from designs reliably is critical. Because simple blueprints don’t convey enough information, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, or GD&T, has become a standard symbolic language for communicating properties such as form, location, orientation, size, and function. The ASME Video Production Team recently visited GT Machine and Tool Co. in Long Island City, N.Y., to talk with company president Dean Theodos about how GD&T enabled its machine shop to produce all kinds of parts.
